Part 1 The failure of for profit components in maintaining the health of a population

There is no place for profit in population health. The failure of healthcare in the USA and in Canada is that the tax based payment for health treats the services provided as expenditures rather than investments. It is worse for commercial models. Capitalism is driven by profits for investors and exclusivity of investment. The population does not get to choose what to invest in. The decision is driven by motives that are just incompatible with the stated goals of the program.
